 Job Description:

  • Provide administrative and office support to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office
  • Handle all general clerical duties including, but not limited to case file management, photocopying, printing, faxing, mailing, filing, data entry and phone duties both for assigned court and/or as part of general receptionist duties
  • Responsible for answering phones in a professional manner and directing calls to appropriate staff or taking clear, concise telephone messages and forwarding to appropriate staff
  • Support staff assigned to court duties will:
    • Maintain and update case management database including file creation, both physical and in case management system
    • Perform daily updates to case management system, entering disposition information in an accurate and timely manner,
    • Create and manage daily court list and file preparation for daily court business
    • Prompt file retrieval from both open and disposed of cases as needed
  • Perform all duties related to case management as required by Assistant District Attorneys, Victim Assistance Advocates and other administrative and support staff, including requests for reports and other case-related information, summonses and notifications, disposition reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Positions may require lateral rotation within the Office to similar positions, based on office needs

 All full time positions offer a State benefit package that includes health, life, disability, and dental/vision insurances, retirement plans, vacation, personal and sick leave and more. Payroll is paid bi-weekly and based on a 37.5 hour work week (normally 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).  All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of background check.  All positions serve at the pleasure of the District Attorney.  All positions require the candidate to:

  • Fulfill the mandatory education and training requirements of the State Ethics Commission
  • Become familiar with and to follow the provisions of the Office Personnel Policies, particularly with regard to confidentiality, sexual harassment, drug-free workplace and the usage of information technology resources
  • Participate in trainings relevant to Office functions
  • Interact in a respectful and professional manner with the public, judicial and law enforcement personnel and office staff
  • Complete work assignments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
