More about:

Hazard Mitigation Grant Program

Learn about financial assistance available for hazard mitigation plans.

Overview

You may be able to take advantage of this post-disaster grant program where the funds are made available following a Presidential Disaster Declaration. Grants are tied to the federal, rather than the state fiscal year and often have multiyear performance periods.

The grants are reimbursable, cost-shared grants for natural hazard mitigation planning and projects for communities.

You can find more information on hazard mitigation from MEMA.

Eligible Applicants

Cities, towns, state agencies, and certain non-profits are all eligible to apply for flood mitigation planning grants.

Program Details

Estimated Application Deadline: Dependent on future Presidential Disaster Declarations.

Average Grant Size: Grants are typically between $100,000 and $500,000
