Private Occupational Schools' Licensure Statuses

Licensed Private Occupational Schools and Their Approved Branch Locations

In order to determine whether a private, non-degree granting post-secondary occupational school is currently licensed by the Division of Professional Licensure (DPL), the locations at which each has been approved to operate, and whether a sales representatives is licensed by DPL to solicit students, please use DPL’s Check A License.  We recommend that you print this page for ease of reference in order to following the directions below.

  1. Licensing Entity:  On the drop down menu to select “Office of Private Occupational School Education” (Hint: Click on the down arrow and press “O” to jump to (Office of Private Occupational School Education”).
  2. License Type:  On the drop down menu select your search choice.
  3. Skip to the field Business Name:  Enter the name of the school or sales representative.

This field is both case sensitive and requires you to know the name of the person or school exactly as it appears in the system.  For example, if you enter Plausible School, but the school is licensed as The Plausible School, your search will not yield a result.  However, you can use a wildcard to assist in your search; for example, “%Salter%” will yield results for all schools licensed with the name “Salter.”

Disciplinary Actions

Pursuant to G.L. c. 112, § 263, the DPL is authorized to take disciplinary action against occupational schools and sales representatives who are found to have violated applicable statutes or regulations governing their operation and conduct.
