State House Art

The State House Art Collection commemorates important historical events, elected officials, and private citizens.

Many events and people have shaped the course of the Commonwealth. We honor service, sacrifice and outstanding contribution through art and artifacts. The State House Art Collection is made up of paintings, sculptures, wall plaques, murals, and historical artifacts. We can answer your questions about our collections, public art, scholarly research, and collections care.

The State House Art Collection is overseen by the Massachusetts Art Commission. We preserve the permanent collection and review designs for new additions. The Art Collections Manager oversees the collections. They manage programs that care for, conserve, and maintain collections.
