0:04

hi my name is Terry Osbourne and I have

0:08

no open anoxic brain injury I believe I

0:13

have injury approximately two years ago

0:16

as I said I wasn't balding initially and

0:20

then I was taken to a rehab hospital so

0:25

speak in Middleboro it wasn't placed in

0:31

a wheelchair initially when I went there

0:33

because my balance was a little unsteady

0:36

and I was in the wheelchair and I had to

0:42

learn to walk again which I did do there

0:44

I met one of my goals of walking again

0:46

I'm still working on that maybe three

0:50

years later but learning how to swing my

0:53

arms when I walk to turn my head side to

0:56

side when I walk it's quite a process

1:00

blurt Watkins realize that I do have a

1:03

short-term memory problem

1:05

I was evaluated for Easter Seals and

1:08

they provided me with an iPad and the

1:14

great thing is every day I photograph

1:17

the board at my day program I go yes I

1:22

go to the supported employment as I said

1:24

with a woman and she helped me find my

1:28

volunteer job helped me create a resume

1:31

and so that got me the job with this

1:35

resume and now we're adding on for when

1:39

I decide to move on to another job I

1:43

have my resume all ready to show the

1:44

people

1:50

every little every once's end up with so

1:54

meeting the people with brain injuries

1:57

are very diverse they affect everyone

2:00

differently so I had no idea the degree

2:03

of where their brain was damaged if we

2:08

would have things in common to talk

2:10

about select the color of my room I

2:14

selected the furniture in the room I

2:17

have a nice big window

2:19

my room I'm a plant person so I have

2:22

plants in my window

2:28

I love it a lot more freedoms the house

2:33

tries to go out this once a week or once

2:38

a month to go to a nice restaurant or to

2:43

a movie an amusement park

2:46

anything'll English that we have the

2:47

funds for and we have a community garden

2:53

I'm the gardener in the family so my

2:58

best friends they've been with me from

3:00

the beginning on the beginning oh I got

3:02

that wrong you're my whole journey yeah

3:05

and they always take me out for our day

3:10

of beauty I hope they take me to get my

3:13

hair done and then we go shopping for

3:16

whatever I need it's wonderful a lot

3:21

more freedom rather than being in a

3:24

hospital setting more choices and to

3:29

what you can go out in the community and

3:32

do your as possible for yourself but you

3:36

also have their staff there to assist

3:38

you and encourage you to fulfill your

3:41

goals
