The Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) is responsible for overseeing the Workers' Compensation system in Massachusetts. We can help you if you are an injured worker, an employer in Massachusetts, an insurer or an attorney.
TO: All Attorneys Practicing at the DIA in Boston
Please be advised that effective Tuesday, May 28th both entrance turnstiles in the main lobby of 1 Congress Street will be set to the closed position. This means that all attorneys who practice here will be required to swipe an access card in order to pass through the turnstiles and access the elevators. All visitors will continue to be required to sign in and present a photo ID to the security personnel. To accommodate the increased activity at the security desk, another security guard will be stationed at the desk from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The building management offered swipe cards to all attorneys at the time DIA relocated to 1 Congress Street. If you are an attorney with one of these swipe cards, you will need to use that card to get through the turnstile without checking in at the security desk. If you do not have your swipe card you may obtain one by inquiring at the same security desk upon your next visit. Quite a few of you paid for access cards that you did not pick up, so please check with the security desk in the main lobby. There is a $15 charge per card.
Thank you for your cooperation as the security procedures for the building are upgraded.
