Accessible ice skating

See which state-owned rinks have adaptive ice skating equipment and learn about adaptive skating programs.

Ice sleds offer a seated option for skaters who cannot use their legs or who have balance issues. Many rinks offer ice sleds for use during un-crowded public skating times.

There is no fee to use an ice sled. The cost to rent skates varies depending on the rink, so please contact the rink directly for price information.

If you'd like to use more adaptive equipment while skating or want the chance to play games while out on the ice, you can attend seasonal skating programs offered by the Universal Access Program. These programs run from November through March every year.
