Public Meeting Notice  Boston – Cambridge - Bridge Preservation, Eliot Bridge Over the Charles River

A Public Informational Meeting will be held by MassDOT to discuss the proposed Bridge Preservation of B-16-246=C01-029, Eliot Bridge Over the Charles River project in Boston – Cambridge, MA.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Elliot Street Bridge Preservation project. Views and comments made at the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:

The proposed project consists of preservation work to the Eliot Bridge including concrete deck and truss repairs, resetting of the brick railings and granite caps, widening of the sidewalks; bridge joint replacement, milling and paving of the roadway and replacing the median railing and lights. 10’-0” wide shared use sidewalks for bicycles and pedestrians have been provided in accordance with applicable design guides in both directions.
