Overview of Citizens Commission Meeting Notice, 5/13/19
Notice is hereby given that the Citizens Commission Concerning a Constitutional Amendment for Government of the People (“Citizens Commission”), under its authority and in compliance with M.G.L. 30A, will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 13th, 2019 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm EDT in the Massachusetts State House, Conference Room Suite 167.
Agenda:
- Introductions
- Presentation, review and discussion regarding the law passed by the voters creating the Citizens Commission, the responsibilities of the Commission with respect to that law, as well as the Open Meeting Law & Public Records Law.
- Initial discussion of process for the Commission to organize and conduct its activities.
- What should be the process to nominate a Chair and Vice Chair?
- Will the Commission use “Robert's Rules of Order” as we conduct meetings?
- What is the cadence and logistics for Commission meetings?
- When and where do we want to hold the next meeting?
- Do we want task groups/committees?
- Can we ask the State to provide simple administrative support?
- How do we assure public disclosure and participation?
