Overview   of Egremont - Reconstruction of Mount Washington Road (Phase 1)

A Live Virtual Design Public Hearing will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed RECONSTRUCTION OF MOUNT WASHINGTON ROAD (PHASE I) project in EGREMONT, MA.

Purpose:

The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed RECONSTRUCTION OF MOUNT WASHINGTON ROAD (PHASE I) project. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:

The proposed project consists of the western 1.2 miles of Mount Washington Road; from the Egremont/Mount Washington town line to 2,000-ft west of Jug End Road. This project is currently programmed in FFY 2026 of the Draft 2023-2027 TIP, which is currently out for public review and comment. The primary goals are to rehabilitate the roadway and improve safety along the corridor.

A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The Municipality is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. The Town of Egremont’s policy concerning land acquisitions will be presented in the hearing.

Statements and exhibits intended for inclusion in the public hearing transcript must be emailed or postmarked no later than ten (10) business days (14 calendar days) after the hearing is hosted on the MassDOT website listed below.

This hearing is accessible to people with disabilities.
