There has been a steady shift toward battery-powered options for lawn care over the last few years as state facilities and municipalities have taken advantage of opportunities to reduce environmental impacts associated with traditional lawn equipment.

The Commonwealth’s Leading by Example program, in coordination with the Operational Services Division and the Taunton Housing Authority, is hosting a battery-powered landscaping equipment (BPLE) Ride and Drive event on Wednesday, August 9 at the Taunton Housing Authority.
The event will provide public entities the opportunity to learn about the benefits of BPLE, test BPLE offered through the FAC116 Statewide Contract, and speak with FAC116 vendors about BPLE purchasing options.
