Overview   of Lowell - Dracut - Methuen - Resurfacing and related work on Route 110

A Live Virtual Public Informational Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed Lowell – Dracut – Methuen – Resurfacing and Related Work on Route 110 project in Lowell, Dracut, and Methuen, MA.

Purpose

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become updated on the proposed Lowell – Dracut – Methuen – Resurfacing and Related Work on Route 110 project. All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal

The proposed work includes resurfacing 6.3-miles of Route 110 in Lowell, Dracut, and Methuen, from the Merrimack River bike path in Lowell to Riverside Drive in Methuen. The work includes a new shared use path, improved sidewalks, and upgraded pedestrian curb ramps where required and possible. Based on feedback from the Design Public Hearing, the typical width of the shoulder is proposed to be 4 feet on the North side, and a 4-ft buffer on the south side with guardrail or flex posts. Breaks in the guardrail are proposed for driveways and at pedestrian crossings/access points. Flex posts are proposed, in place of guardrail, in areas where there are frequent driveways, and in constrained areas where the shoulder narrows.

This meeting is accessible to people with disabilities. MassDOT provides reasonable accommodations and/or language assistance free of charge upon request (e.g interpreters in American Sign Language and languages other than English, live captioning, videos, assistive listening devices and alternate material formats), as available.
