Overview of Northampton - Roundabout Construction, Intersection of Routes 5/10 (North King Street) & Hatfield Street
A Live Public Informational Meeting will be hosted by the MassDOT to provide an update on the status of the Northampton - Roundabout Construction at the Intersection of Routes 5/10 (North King Street) & Hatfield Street project.
Purpose:
The purpose of this informational meeting is to provide the public with an update on the project, a status of the recent design modifications and outline the next phases of the project.
Proposal:
The proposed project will include the construction of a modern roundabout at the intersection of Routes 5/10 (North King Street) & Hatfield Street. In addition, new sidewalks and bicycle accommodations will be implemented on Hatfield Street from Cooke Avenue to the roundabout, and on North King Street on both the northbound and southbound approaches to the roundabout. The project will generally include targeted safety improvements; addition of MUTCD compliant traffic control devices, signs, and pavement markings; reconstruction of sidewalks, crosswalks, and wheelchair ramps; addition of bicycle accommodations; and roadway reconstruction and resurfacing.
