Gather Information

Before filing a complaint with the AAB, it's important to gather as much information as possible about the alleged violation. This includes the name and address of the building or facility, a description of the accessibility issue, and the date of the alleged violation. It's also helpful to gather any relevant documents that support your complaint, such as copies of building plans, inspection reports, or photographs of the alleged violation.

Complete the AAB Complaint Form

  • Fill out your name, address, phone number, and email address. If you are filing the complaint on behalf of someone else, fill out the complainant information for whichever person will be the primary contact, as the listed complainant is who will receive all correspondence generated by the Board.

  • Fill out the name and address of the building or facility owner or operator that you believe is in violation of the accessibility regulations. If you don't know the name or address of the owner or operator, provide as much information as possible to help us locate the building or facility.

  • Provide a detailed description of the alleged violation, including the specific accessibility issue(s) and the date(s) on which the violation(s) occurred. Be as specific as possible in your description, as this will help us investigate the complaint.

  • Attach any relevant documents or photographs that support your complaint, such as copies of building plans, inspection reports, or photographs of the alleged violation. If you are unable to attach the documents to the complaint form, you can mail or email them to us separately.
