Health and Disability Program (HDP)

We promote the health and well-being of people with disabilities in Massachusetts and prevent secondary conditions by transforming public health systems and sharing power with the disability community.

The Disability Community Health Needs Assessment survey is accepting responses. Take the online survey to share your responses.

People with disabilities have the right and the ability to be healthy. The Health and Disability Program helps other programs across the Department of Public Health better serve people with disabilities. We provide information and tools to help people across the Commonwealth understand and act on health inequities affecting the disability community. We also support the Health and Disability Partnership, a group of people with disabilities who advise us on how to make our work even more accessible and useful.

This page has two sections. The first section, “Information and Resources for Community Members,” lists helpful links for people with disabilities in Massachusetts. The second section, “Information and Resources for Professionals” lists helpful links for people who work in public health, health care, disability services, or local planning. If you are a professional with a disability, feel free to browse both sections.
