The Board only accepts complete applications that include the non-refundable fee paid by check or money-order to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The check or money-order must include the applicant name and the address for which the variance is being requested. This information will allow DOL to successfully match your check to your application. Complete an application below and submit the form along with any supporting documentation to the address listed in the By Mail information box.
All completed applications must be received by the board two full weeks prior to a Board meeting. This includes the petition to the Local Board of Health when applicable. It is the Petitioner’s responsibility to notify the local Board of Health and Local Plumbing Inspector (State Plumbing Inspector if it is a State project). After they have been notified by letter or email, add this correspondence to your variance application. If your application is not complete at the time of submission, it will not be processed. Only completed applications will be docketed and added to the Agenda.
The Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters ("Board") meets the first Wednesday of each month unless there is a conflict. The meeting notice and agenda items will be posted on the Board's website at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
