  1. Important Note

Certification of Toxics Use Reduction Planners During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Based on the Governor’s March 18, 2020, Executive Order Extending The Registration Of Certain Licensed Professionals, MassDEP previously extended existing Toxic Use Reduction Planner (TURP or Planner) certifications until 90 days after termination of the State of Emergency. That extension of the TURP certifications is revised pursuant to the Governor’s June 26, 2020, issuance of COVID-19 Executive Order No. 41, which rescinded and superseded the March 18 Executive Order. MassDEP hereby extends until October 1, 2020, the certifications of Toxic Use Reduction Planners that expire prior to July 10, 2020.

A Planner with a TURP certification (or recertification) that expires prior to July 10, 2020, should file a recertification application prior to October 1, 2020. A Planner with a TURP certification (or recertification) that expires on or after July 10, 2020, should file a recertification application prior to the date of its expiration. Once MassDEP receives a TURP recertification application, or a new TURP certification application, MassDEP will process such application in the usual timeframe. Questions?
