2023 Worth & Wealth Seminars

Launched in 2022, the Worth & Wealth Seminars provide Massachusetts women of all ages with skills and knowledge to become more confident in their financial futures.

The 2023 Worth & Wealth Seminars have ended. Check this page for updates on the 2024 Worth & Wealth Seminars.

Please read below to learn more about the 2023 Worth & Wealth Seminars.

The Worth & Wealth Seminars have three components: weekly virtual workshops, 1:1 financial coaching sessions for participants (who have attended at least three workshops), and resources from partner organizations. This program is supported by Citizens and administered by State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg’s Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE).

Launched in September 2023, participants attended weekly webinars where they received training on personal finance topics uniquely suited to their needs, such as creating financial goals, budgeting, saving, banking, preparing for financial emergencies, and salary negotiation. As the program progressed, topics focused more on strategies for achieving long-term goals and tackling financial challenges at any stage.

We partner with organizations and agencies across Massachusetts and the country to provide these essential seminars to women in the Commonwealth. If you would like to be a co-host or partner for future seminars, please check this page for updates.

Financial Coaching

Did you know that, according to a 2016 study conducted by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, individuals who participate in financial coaching have higher levels of financial behavior change and well-being than those who do not? That is why coaching is an essential component of the Worth & Wealth Seminars.

Participants who registered and attended at least three workshops were invited to schedule a virtual coaching session with our money management coach.

Additionally, participants were encouraged to visit their nearest Citizens Bank branch and schedule a time for a free financial check-up with one of their bankers. You are not required to bank with Citizens in order to participate in the check-up.

However, public employees who participate in the Worth and Wealth Seminars are still eligible to win the raffle prize, with the following exemption:

Exempted from the raffle are any Treasury employees involved in any way with the procurement of services from the Worth and Wealth Seminars (i.e. the Procurement Management Team and the Procurement Manager), as this may create an appearance of a conflict of interest under MGL c. 268A §23(b)(3).

Each person can only be awarded one raffle prize per cohort. Raffles will be drawn using a random name generator. Funding for the prizes is provided by a grant from Citizens to the Economic Empowerment Trust Fund.
