2023 Worth & Wealth Seminars

Launched in 2022, the Worth & Wealth Seminars provide Massachusetts women of all ages with skills and knowledge to become more confident in their financial futures.

This program has three components: weekly virtual workshops, 1:1 financial coaching sessions for participants (who have attended at least three workshops), and resources from partner organizations. This program is supported by Citizens and administered by State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg’s Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE).

Launching in September, participants will attend weekly webinars where they will receive training on personal finance topics uniquely suited to their needs, such as creating financial goals, budgeting, saving, banking, preparing for financial emergencies, and salary negotiation. As the program progresses, topics will focus more on strategies for achieving long-term goals and tackling financial challenges at any stage.

Anyone can register online.

We partner with organizations and agencies across Massachusetts and the country to provide these essential seminars to women in the Commonwealth. If you would like to be a co-host or partner for these seminars, please complete an interest form at your convenience.

Financial Coaching

Did you know that, according to a 2016 study conducted by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, individuals who participate in financial coaching have higher levels of financial behavior change and well-being than those who do not? That is why coaching is an essential component of the Worth & Wealth Seminars.

Participants who register and attend at least three workshops are invited to schedule a virtual coaching session with our money management coach. Participants can fill out our online form to schedule a 1:1 session.

Additionally, participants are encouraged to visit their nearest Citizens Bank branch and schedule a time for a free financial check-up with one of their bankers. You are not required to bank with Citizens in order to participate in the check-up.

Raffle Guidelines For Public Employees:

The state's conflict of interest law, G. L. c. 268A, restricts gifts and gratuities that public employees may receive.  The phrase, "public employee," includes all Massachusetts state, county and municipal officials and employees, whether part-time or full-time, paid or unpaid, elected or appointed. However, public employees who participate in the Worth and Wealth Seminars are still eligible to win the raffle prize, with the following exemption:

Exempted from the raffle are any Treasury employees involved in any way with the procurement of services from the Worth and Wealth Seminars (i.e. the Procurement Management Team and the Procurement Manager), as this may create an appearance of a conflict of interest under MGL c. 268A §23(b)(3).

Each person can only be awarded one raffle prize per cohort. Raffles will be drawn using a random name generator. Funding for the prizes is provided by a grant from Citizens to the Economic Empowerment Trust Fund.
