Candidate Statements

  1. Kristyn Camilleri
I am grateful and excited to submit my nomination papers and to introduce myself as a candidate for the position of elected member of the Massachusetts State Board of Retirement. My professional experience with the Department of Correction and in my legal career has prepared me to be a successful candidate for this position. I am currently the Director of Personnel at the Department of Correction overseeing the Agency's retirement process, benefits, and hiring. I have held this position since May 2022 and prior to that I was processing the retirements and benefits as a Personnel Officer with the Agency. Assisting the Agency's employees in navigating the retirement process, I have gained invaluable understanding of the logistics of the process as well as the challenges that state employees face when trying to retire. Thank you for your consideration. Kristyn.Camilleri@doc.state.ma.us
  2. David LaRosa Senatillaka
Marine Corps Veteran • Public Safety Sergeant • EMT - For nearly 30 years, retirees have watched costs rise while the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) has barely increased. Retirees are living on yesterday’s dollars in today’s economy. This is unacceptable, it’s time for a change! I served our country as a Marine, and now I serve as a Sergeant and an EMT. I’m ready to serve YOU on the Massachusetts State Retirement Board. My priorities are clear: -Cost of Living Adjustment reform so retirees can live with dignity, not just scrape by; -Affordable Retiree Healthcare; -Reform Buybacks and Group Classifications; -Credits for Essential Workers through COVID. -You earned these benefits through your service & sacrifice, and I will fight to ensure they are honored. You deserve better and I hope to earn your Vote. I want to hear your concerns! (857) 869-8558 phone/text • Dave4RetirementBoard@gmail.com • Facebook: Dave4RetirementBoard
  3. Francis E. Valeri (Incumbent)
I've served as your State Retirement Board representative for 9 years, drawing on 38 years in state government to improve our retirement system. My priorities are improving COLA benefits, shortening service buybacks and first pension payment wait times. Also, serving as president of the Mass Retirees Association, www.massretirees.com, I am committed to advocating for retirees and employees. Our recent success in helping to repeal the unfair Social Security WEP and GPO laws has helped thousands of State retirees and will prove to be a tremendous benefit to our active members in retirement. I ask for your continued support and your vote. You can contact me at frank@massretirees.com
