Who is eligible to join
- Any veteran that has served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and honorably discharged;
- Any active duty service members with honorable service conduct.
How to join a local chapter
The American Legion Department of Massachusetts is organized into various districts across the Commonwealth, each with an elected Commander. To join a local Legion chapter start by reaching out to one of the District Commanders:

American Legion Auxiliary
The Legion Auxiliary are the spouses and family members of members of The American Legion. Their mission to support the Legion and honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our military community. The group advocates for veterans, educates our citizens, mentors youth, and promotes patriotism, good citizenship, peace, and security.
