Public Health Nursing Advisor 

Nurses in this role work across DPH with a variety of staff, organizations, and stakeholder groups to provide nursing guidance in such areas as quality improvement, performance management, and infection prevention and control. They may supervise nursing staff, serve as subject matter experts, and provide clinical advice to staff as needed. This position may initiate or revise protocols and guidance and will regularly communicate about the advancement of nursing and public health in articles or public presentations. They also oversee education and training for public health nurses and others statewide. 

DPH Public Health Nursing Advisors work in the sexual and reproductive health program, direct school nursing and school-based health center programs, and oversee a portfolio of chronic disease prevention programs. It’s an exciting role for nurses who like to work on varied topics with staff at all levels.
