Congregate Meals & Home-Delivered Meals

Meals are provided at congregate (onsite) meal centers and through home-delivered meals to senior citizens 60+ and people under 60 who live in certain senior housing buildings.

Supper and weekend meals are also available in some areas as well as special ethnic meals. We offer nutrition assessments and counseling to seniors who are at nutritional risk.

Home-Delivered Meals

Home delivered meals provide nutritious food to older adults who are frail, isolated, or homebound. The meal delivery also provides a daily safety check. The local nutrition program will check on high-risk older adults during the event of a storm or an emergency. Local nutrition programs offer medically necessary meals such as cardiac, carbohydrate controlled, or renal, or meals with texture modifications like soft or pureed.

Congregate Meals

Congregate dining sites provide at least one meal per day at senior centers, Councils on Aging, churches, schools, and other public locations. The congregate setting provides opportunities for socialization and companionship. It also offers nutrition education programs on relevant topics such as:

  • Health Promotion
  • Disease Prevention and Management
  • Exercise
  • Food Safety

Contact your local congregate dining site to learn if transportation is available.
