Find Your Home’s Lead History

The Massachusetts Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) records the lead history of homes and daycares built before 1978. The public can access a property’s lead history and some inspectional documents including reports and Letters of Compliance through Lead Safe Homes. Start with required fields: Town (or City) and Street Name

(You can always go back to add more information to narrow the search).

Use a wildcard in place of letters. They can be used before, after, or in the middle of words. This is helpful for long or hard to spell addresses. Use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard in Lead Safe Homes 2.0. Use a percent sign (%) as a wildcard in Lead Safe Homes 1.0.

Examples:

  • Search Main* instead of Main Street. This will give you all streets that begin with the word Main (Main Ave, Main Rd, Maine St, etc.)
  • Instead of searching for West Main Street, search for *Main* instead.
  • When looking for Hampton or Hamden, search *Ham*

To get copies of documents not available online, you should contact the inspector who issued them. If the inspector is still licensed, then the contact information can be found at the Finding and Removing Lead page. If they are not on the list, please contact CLPPP at 1-800-532-9571.
