About Division of Healthy Homes and Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention
The Division of Healthy Homes and Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention (DHHL) is dedicated to fostering safe, healthy, and sustainable housing. We serve Massachusetts residents, including children, seniors, and marginalized communities, who have poor health outcomes because of historic disinvestment and structurally discriminatory housing policies. Our work focuses on hazards in homes that can cause life-threatening and long-term health problems, including some cancers, lung and brain damage, learning disabilities, and asthma.
DHHL promotes 12 principles for a healthy home. We strive to help make the places where people live improve their physical and mental health.
Whether you are a homeowner, tenant, health professional, or policymaker, DHHL offers the tools and expertise needed to empower communities and build a healthier future for all.
