Registration for the 30th Annual Massachusetts Adult Immunization Conference
Organized by the Massachusetts Adult Immunization Coalition (MAIC), this event is the largest adult immunization activity in the Commonwealth. The overall goal is to educate Massachusetts healthcare professionals on current and best practices for adult immunization. The 2025 conference offers an opportunity to receive the most updated information on routine adult immunization from leading experts in the field and network with immunization experts and colleagues.
Immunization updates
The Immunization Updates are a series of immunization-related webinars for health care providers, presented by the Immunization Division every spring. We’ll post next year’s schedule in April.

MIAP conference
Our 30th Annual MIAP Conference will take place in October 2025, and we plan to open registration in August. Review the 2024 MIAP agenda.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), in collaboration with the Massachusetts Immunization Action Partnership (MIAP), hosts the annual Massachusetts Immunization Action Partnership (MIAP) Pediatric Immunization Skills Building Conference - an annual, full-day conference focused on pediatric immunizations. The Conference typically attracts 350+ immunization providers, supporting statewide efforts to optimize pediatric immunization. We provide the latest recommendations and share strategies to improve pediatric immunization rates in the Commonwealth. The conference attracts physicians, nurses, physician assistants, medical assistants, community outreach and public health workers, immunization coalition members, and other staff who work in pediatric healthcare settings and civic organizations.

Social media campaigns
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) Immunization Division, in coordination with the MDPH Communications Office, creates social media campaigns to discuss immunization related topics. These campaigns are geared towards the general public to highlight the importance of immunizations across the lifespan.
Please follow DPH on X (formerly Twitter) to see immunization related topics throughout the year. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to retweet messages they find interesting.
Some examples of campaigns include:
- National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) is an annual observance to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization programs and their partners in promoting healthy communities.
- National Immunization Awareness Month in August (NIAM) provides an opportunity to highlight the value of immunization across the lifespan. Activities focus on encouraging all people to protect their health by being vaccinated against infectious diseases.
- National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW), in December, is an annual reminder of the importance of flu vaccination through the holiday season and beyond.
VFC Compliance Training Webinar
The Vaccine Coordinator and Back-up Vaccine Coordinator at each pediatric provider receiving vaccines from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) Immunization Division are required to complete an annual VFC Compliance Training. This training requirement may be fulfilled in a number of ways, including by attending a regionally-based Immunization Update or other programs as indicated. A pre-recorded webinar, VFC Compliance Training Webinar, is also available. In order to receive a certificate of training, register with the 5-digit PIN used to order vaccines. Keep your training certificate on file — it is documentation that you have completed the annual training requirement.
