Position Title: Financial Analyst

FLSA: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $68,000-$80,000
Full-Time/On Site
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting the Chief Administrative Officer and Assistant Executive Director with the financial operations of the System.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
- Maintain System’s general ledger, post accounting data, investment data, and authorize and enter adjusting journal entries.
- Post weekly deposits.
- Process accounts payable on a weekly basis and prepare positive pay files.
- Review and reconcile all System bank accounts and communicate with banks regarding account issues.
- Prepare all financial reports and data submitted to the Board, PERAC and the System’s auditors and actuaries, including the Annual Statement of Financial Condition.
- Assist with monthly retirement payroll, checks, warrants, and reports for all benefit recipients, including reversals, stop payments and re-issues.
- Reconcile activity between the general ledger and member accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of all Form 1099Rs for benefit recipients, including transmittal of electronic files to IRS.
- Respond professionally to a variety of written, telephone, and in-person inquiries from active members, retirees, survivors, employers, other retirement system staff, etc.
- Adhere to Board policies and exhibit core competencies as established by the Board.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other duties as assigned.

- A Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) query is required.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- At least three years working with a retirement system or finance department are preferred.
- Ability to enter and review financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to follow instructions and function independently within prescribed deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Online preferred.

- Sit for long periods of time.
- Use hands to finger, handle or feel, or to talk or hear.
- Frequently reach with hand and arms and stand and walk.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust and focus.
