Job description
The Retirement Coordinator will provide administrative and clerical support to the Natick Contributory Retirement Office. Under the supervision of management staff, the specific duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides support for active and inactive members of the Natick Contributory Retirement System, including initial onboarding, account maintenance, explanation of benefits, retirement counseling and research of prior Retirement System membership or MA State employment.
- Upload and review active members regular, 2% and additional payroll pension contributions as well as transfer-ins from other MA Retirement Systems or financial institutions.
- Assists with balancing the supplementary schedule monthly, resolving discrepancies when necessary.
- Prepares makeup and redeposit calculations for the monthly Board meeting agendas.
- Maintains and tracks new member enrollment paperwork, service buybacks, rollovers and transfers, refunds, deceased members, 38c payments and retirees with erroneous pension contributions.
- Responsible for various annual duties such as member statement preparation and mailing and transfers to pension reserve.
- Provides documentation and support for Town audits and PERAC audits.
- Performs general office tasks, including answering the phone, responding to inquiries via phone, mail email or in person, writing letters, filing, scanning, preparing bank deposits and troubleshooting logistical or administrative issues.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Assistant Director or Retirement Board.
Support Responsibilities
- Assists with completion of retirement applications.
- Support for retirees with account maintenance and generating documents such as affidavits, 1099Rs and monthly checks.
- Technical and clerical support for Board meetings.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of administrative experience, a bachelor’s degree in finance or related field is preferred.
- Strong math, accounting and analytical skills
- Strong organizations skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced understanding of computers.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office; Outlook; ability to troubleshoot software challenges
Schedule Hours
Monday – Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Friday 8:00 am to 12:30pm
Salary and Benefits
The Natick Retirement Board offers a competitive benefits package for this full-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience. The current salary range is $65,000 - $75,000.
