Julia joined MassDOT in 2022 and serves as a Wildlife and Endangered Species Coordinator, where she primarily reviews MassDOT projects under the state and federal Endangered Species Act. Before coming to MassDOT, Julia worked in the private sector as an environmental consultant, specializing in identifying and demarcating wetland resource areas and preparing environmental permit applications for commercial and residential applicants in Massachusetts. At MassDOT, Julia appreciates working for the Commonwealth. Aside from reviewing projects for environmental compliance, Julia enjoys seeking opportunities for aquatic and terrestrial habitat connectivity and ecosystem stewardship to improve wildlife resiliency in the Commonwealth. She looks forward to her team's continued efforts in these areas.
In her spare time, you can find Julia enjoying hiking or snowboarding, tending to her backyard garden, or curled up on her couch knitting.
