Overview
The Massachusetts Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) was established to collect, analyze and report on data relevant to criminal justice matters. The SAC's goal is to improve capacity to collect and analyze data for the purpose of enhancing the Commonwealth's ability to address criminal justice issues.
According to the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Statistics, there are SACs in 53 states and territories across the United States. The Massachusetts SAC receives federal grant funding through the Bureau of Justice Statistics' State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program.
