Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for your Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) account

You can make your PFML account more secure by adding a cell phone number to verify it’s you when you log in to your account.

How to add MFA to your account

Adding MFA is an optional step to make your account more secure. In the future, you’ll also be able to access sensitive information like tax documents (when available) once you set this up.

If you have an existing account, the next time you log in to the application site, you will be asked if you want to add this functionality. If you select Yes, we’ll ask for a phone number that can receive text messages (SMS). To protect your security, we'll send you a 6-digit code to verify it's really you. You’ll need to enter the code in order to log in to your account.

If you select No, you can add MFA in the future by going to the Settings page.

New users will automatically be given the option to add MFA as part of their regular account set up.
