NOTICE OF ELECTION: MEMBERS AND RETIREES
To All Members and Retirees of the Essex Regional Retirement System:
Notice of Election:
Election Date: November 5, 2025.
Purpose:
To elect the third member and the fourth member of the Essex Regional Retirement Board in accordance with Massachusetts General Law (MGL) Chapter 34B, Section 19A.
Term of Office (Three Years)
The term of office for both the third member and the fourth member of the Essex Regional Retirement Board is effective from December 2, 2025 to December 1, 2028.
Candidates
Pursuant to MGL Chapter 34B, Section 19A, the third member and fourth member of the board shall be elected by the members in or retired from service of the Essex Regional Retirement System from among persons retired under the system.
Nomination Papers
To be eligible as a candidate, nomination papers must contain the signature and address of at least five (5) retirees or members of the Essex Regional Retirement System. Nomination papers will be made available at the retirement system office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or may be obtained via email by writing to ckostro@essexrrs.org.
Nomination papers must be filed at the retirement system office on or before 4:30 p.m. on September 24, 2025, in order for a candidate to be on the ballot.
Ballots and Voting
If there are more than two nominees, ballots will be prepared and mailed to all members and retirees. This election will be conducted entirely by mail. All envelopes containing ballots for this election must be postmarked by November 5, 2025. The two candidates with the most votes will be awarded a seat on the Board.
