NOTICE OF ELECTION: MEMBERS AND RETIREES

To All Members and Retirees of the Essex Regional Retirement System:
Notice of Election:
Election Date: January 7, 2026.
Purpose:
To elect the fourth member of the Essex Regional Retirement Board in accordance with Massachusetts General Law (MGL) Chapter 34B, Section 19A.
Term of Office (Three Years)
The term of office for fourth member of the Essex Regional Retirement Board is effective from January 8, 2026 to December 1, 2028.
Candidates
Pursuant to MGL Chapter 34B, Section 19A, the fourth member of the board shall be elected by the members in or retired from service of the Essex Regional Retirement System from among persons retired under the system.
Nomination Papers
To be eligible as a candidate, nomination papers must contain the signature and address of at least five (5) retirees or members of the Essex Regional Retirement System. Nomination papers will be made available at the retirement system office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or may be obtained via email by writing to ckostro@essexrrs.org.
Nomination papers must be filed at the retirement system office on or before 4:30 p.m. on November 24, 2025, in order for a candidate to be on the ballot.
Ballots and Voting
If there is more than one nominee, ballots will be prepared and mailed to all members and retirees. Thiselection will be conducted entirely by mail. All envelopes containing ballots for this election must be postmarked by January 7, 2026. The two candidates with the most votes will be awarded a seat on the Board.
