Notice of Election

An election is to be held for the purpose of electing a Member of the Fairhaven Retirement System to serve on the Fairhaven Retirement Board for a term of three (3) years.  Said term will commence on February 20, 2025.

Active and retired members of the Fairhaven Retirement System are eligible as candidates provided they file with the Fairhaven Retirement Board a nomination paper containing signatures of at least twenty (20) Members of the System.  The nomination paper must be filed on or before 2:00 PM Monday, January 6, 2025.

If the Board determines that a candidate has filed nomination papers containing less than the required number of qualified signatures, the Board shall declare the nomination papers invalid and shall notify the candidate of its determination.

Nomination papers may be obtained at the Fairhaven Retirement Board, located at 40 Center Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719.

The election shall be conducted entirely by mail.  If more than one candidate has been nominated, an election ballot shall be prepared and each active, inactive, and retired members of the retirement system, shall be sent a ballot by mail.  These ballots must be returned by mail and will not be accepted by hand delivery.  The ballots will only be counted if received by the Retirement Board no later than 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
