Fifth Board Member Position
The Greenfield Retirement Board is seeking applicants for the Fifth Member of the Greenfield Retirement Board. In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 32 section 20(4)(b), the 5th member shall not be an employee, retiree, or official of the City of Greenfield and shall be chosen by the other four board members, for a three year term commencing on January 1, 2026.
Greenfield Retirement Board members serve as fiduciaries of the Greenfield Retirement System. Responsibilities include administration of benefits under M.G.L. Chapter 32 for its approximately 500 active and 300 retired members overseeing the investment of its approximately $100 million asset fund.
Other requirements included, but are not limited to, attending 18 hours of educational training during the three year term, filing an annual Statement of Personal Financial Interest and being available for monthly Board meetings during regular business hours. The Greenfield Retirement Board is seeking candidates with investment experience, retirement board experience, and a professional background and/or education in business, administration, finance or other related field.
The Board usually meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am or other times as specified. There is a $3,000.00 annual stipend.
