TO THE ACTIVE/RETIRED MEMBERS OF THE NORWOOD RETIREMENT SYSTEM: An election is to be held for the purpose of electing a member of the system to serve on the Norwood Retirement Board for a term of three (3) years to expire October 15, 2028.

TO THE ACTIVE/RETIRED MEMBERS OF THE NORWOOD RETIREMENT SYSTEM:  

An election is to be held for the purpose of electing a member of the system to serve on the Norwood Retirement Board for a term of three (3) years to expire October 15, 2028.

All holding membership in the Norwood Retirement System may qualify as a candidate by filing with the Norwood Retirement Board a nomination paper containing the signatures and addresses of a least twenty (20) members/retirees of the System.  

If necessary, the election shall be conducted via U.S. mail. If only one candidate files nomination papers that candidate shall be declared the winner and no election will be necessary.  

If you choose to run please note that you will act as a fiduciary of the Norwood Contributory Retirement System and perform duties solely in the interest of its members and beneficiaries. You will be required to attend monthly Board meetings at 9AM on the 3rd Wednesday of every month and you will also be required to adhere to the following: 

  • File an Annual Statement of Financial Interest with PERAC detailing personal assets;  
  • Complete a Conflict of Interest and Ethics training biannually;  
  • Develop knowledge of Massachusetts Open Meeting Law; 
  • Develop knowledge of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 32;  
  • Attend Meetings, seminars and education training as necessary; and  
  • Complete 18 hours of training during your first three years of your term in order to continue to serve on the Board. A minimum of three (3) credits must be earned annually.

NOMINATION PAPERS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 10:00 AM JUNE 18, 2025 THROUGH 2:00 PM JULY 9, 2025 VIA EMAIL AT DWILKES@NORWOODMA.GOV OR BY CALLING 781-762-1240 X 6038 AND REQUESTING THAT NOMINATION PAPERS BE SENT TO YOU; OR BY COMING INTO THE OFFICE AT 900B WASHINGTON STREET, NORWOOD, MA 02062. COMPLETED NOMINATION PAPERS MUST BE FILED WITH THE RETIREMENT OFFICE NO LATER THAN 2:00 PM JULY 30, 2025.
