Purpose of Election:
To elect the second member of the Reading Retirement Board.
Date of Election:
Thursday, March 20, 2025, 2:00 P.M.
Place of Election:
Reading Retirement Office, 2 Haven St, Unit 307, Reading, MA.
Term of Office:
Effective April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2028.
Voters:
Members in service, inactive and retirees of the Reading Retirement System, with the exception of those receiving survivor benefits or non-contributory pensions.
Candidates:
Members in service and retirees of the Reading Retirement System, with the exception of those receiving survivor benefits or non-contributory pensions.
Nomination Papers:
Members in service and retirees may qualify as a candidate by filing, with the Reading Retirement Board Office, a nomination paper containing the signatures and addresses of at least twenty (20) members or retirees of the Reading Retirement System.

Due Date of Papers:
The last day to submit nomination papers is Monday, January 27, 2025.
Ballots:
Ballots will be mailed to all eligible members and eligible retirees.
Elected members must file an Annual Statement of Financial Interest (SFI) with the Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission and must undertake 18 hours of educational training during the three-year term.
Board Members are subject to and must be in compliance with the public employee retirement laws, G.L. c 32, The State Ethics Law, G.L. c 268A and the rules and regulations promulgated by the Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission.
