Comprehensive Refugee Employment Services (CRES)
CRES is only available for refugee and refugee-type populations and encompasses a wide range of job services to refugees, along with supportive Vocational English language training. Services include:
- Pre-employment services: (1) Intake and Assessments; (2) Orientation to the American Workplace; (3) Digital Literacy; (4) English Literacy instruction for non-literate or low literacy level refugees; (5) Soft and hard skills trainings; (6) Job development; (7) Employment readiness, search and job placement.
- Post-employment services: (1) 30-day and 90-day post-employment follow-up; (2) Career laddering opportunities and job upgrades; and (3) Assistance accessing higher education.
Employment Services Supports Program (ESSP)
ORI offers unique language, cultural, and employment placement skills for DTA clients who are refugees or immigrants and whose primary language is not English. Through ORI services, you will receive an assessment of the immediate needs of you and your family, and ongoing follow up services once employed. Services are provided in your primary language as you work to build English skills.
Eligible clients are TAFDC recipients or non-custodial parents of children receiving TAFDC who are in the U.S. as refugees, asylees and other immigrants whose English is not their first language. These participants are required to have the goal of employment and need supports navigating cultural and language barriers.
Services are provided by a network of refugee service providers in Boston, Brockton, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, Worcester and Springfield.
Services include but are not limited to (1) comprehensive assessment, including work history, life experience, interests, hobbies, and skills; (2) Employment Readiness; (3) Access to Vocational Skills training; (4) Employment workshops and job fairs, and (5) Job placement and retention.
