Massachusetts SRTS Listserv

The Massachusetts Safe Routes to School Program is excited to launch a Massachusetts-centric SRTS listserv! This is a space for SRTS champions around the Commonwealth to ask each other questions, brainstorm ideas, and share resources.

Forming an SRTS Task Force

Task Forces are a great way to share the responsibilities of Safe Routes to School initiatives. This helps to ensure sustainability and longevity for SRTS in a community. Task Forces can be at the school, district, or municipal level. They can also be a sub-committee of an existing organization or group.

SRTS Networking Calls

During the 2021-2022 school year, SRTS hosted three virtual networking calls that covered different topics. This gave SRTS champions across the Commonwealth the opportunity to meet each other and collaborate in breakout rooms. Notes from each breakout group were collected and condensed into meeting summaries. We also shared resources related to each topic at the end of all meeting summaries.

Networking Call #1: Arrival and Dismissal (Meeting Summary Notes)

Networking Call #2: Engaging Parents/Guardians to help with SRTS Programming (Meeting Summary Notes)

Networking Call #3: Launching and Sustaining Walking School Buses/Bike Trains and On-Campus SRTS Alternatives (Meeting Summary Notes)
