Qualifications for the manager

The Manager of an ALR must:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Have experience in administration, supervision, and management
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human services management, housing management, or nursing home management
  • The Manager must be of good moral character and must never have been convicted of a felony.

Qualifications for the service coordinator

The Service Coordinator of an ALR must:

  • Have at least two years' of experience working with elders or persons with disabilities
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Be experienced and trained on how to develop, maintain, and carry out individualized service plans

Qualifications for the special care residence manager

The Manager of a Special Care Residence of an ALR must:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Have two years' experience working with elders or disabled individuals
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in service management, housing management, or nursing home management. 
  • The Manager must be of good moral character and must never have been convicted of a felony.

Staffing levels

Each residence has to create an evaluation to determine the appropriateness of staffing levels. Also there has to be enough staff at Residences 24 hours a day.
