State Agency Traffic Safety Grant

This grant program makes funding available to Massachusetts state agencies to address certain traffic safety priority areas with the goal of reducing traffic crashes.

Overview

The Office of Grants and Research (OGR) is the State Administering Agency for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) traffic safety grants to reduce roadway crashes, injuries, fatalities, and associated economic losses in Massachusetts. Applications for the State Traffic Safety Grant must focus on addressing one or more of the following road safety priority areas:

  • Alcohol and/or Drug-Impaired Driving
  • Child Passenger Safety
  • Distracted Driving
  • Motorcyclist Safety
  • Nonmotorized/Vulnerable Road User Safety
  • Roadside Safety
  • Seat Belt Usage
  • Speeding/Aggressive Driving
  • Young Drivers < 21 years old

Please note that this funding is contingent upon the availability and release of funds from the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. OGR reserves the right to amend any awards, rules, regulations or policies relevant to this opportunity if required by the federal government. Please continue to check this page for updates.

Only Massachusetts state government agencies are eligible to apply.
