Overview

The Office of Grants and Research utilizes federal funds awarded through the Bureau of Justice Assistance's Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program to implement the requirements of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).

SORNA requires states to maintain a sex offender registry and for sex offenders to register and maintain a current registration. Among the recent projects funded through this program are enhancements to the compatibility and data-sharing capabilities between software applications utilized by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board.
