Educational and Career Counseling (Chapter 36)
VA Chapter 36 offers free educational and career guidance, planning, and resources to Veterans and their dependents who are eligible for a VA education benefit.
The DOD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. DOD SkillBridge connects transitioning service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences.
Employment Navigator and Partnership Pilot
The Employment Navigator(EN) and Partnership Program (ENPP) provides one-on-one career assistance to interested transitioning service members, and their spouses, at select military installations worldwide.
Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program
The Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP) is an employment focused competitive grant program of the Department of Labor, Veterans' Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS), the only federal grant to focus exclusively on competitive employment for homeless veterans.
Off Base Transition Training (OBTT)
The Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT) pilot program is an opportunity earned through service for veterans, veterans currently serving in the National Guard and Reserve, and their spouses to take control of their career through workshops to help meet their employment goals.
Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
On September 29, 2022, President Biden signed S. 2293 the “Civilian Reservist Emergency Workforce Act of 2021” or the “CREW Act,” into law. The “CREW Act” extends employment protections under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reservists who deploy to major disaster sites.
US Department of Labor Veterans' Employment & Training Service (VETS) Program
VETS provides assistance to those experiencing service connected problems with their civilian employment and provides information about USERRA to employers. VETS also assists veterans who have questions regarding Veterans' Preference.
Women-Owned Small Businesses (SBA)*
SBA helps women entrepreneurs launch new businesses and compete in the marketplace. Connect with the training and funding opportunities specifically for women.

Department of Labor: Office of Disability Employment Policy manages the The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) that connects federal and select private-sector employers nationwide with college students, graduate students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their abilities in the workplace through internships or permanent jobs.

Supports women's professional and personal growth from military academies and officer development programs. Academy Women empowers aspiring, current, and past women military leaders through mentoring, education, and leadership development.
Association Of Women's Business Centers (AWBC)*
Offers a nationwide network of Women's Business Centers to help women succeed in business by providing training, mentoring, business development, and financing opportunities. The Association of Women's Business Centers (AWBC) works to secure economic justice and entrepreneurial opportunities for women by supporting and sustaining a national network of over 100 Women's Business Centers (WBCs).
Develops and enacts socio-economic strategies to advance the small business, educational, and economic development interests of disadvantaged communities, specifically, our nation's military families, women, urban youth, and minority populations.
Provides networking opportunities and programs that encourage entrepreneurship, education and mentoring, health and wellness, and community awareness of domestic violence and mental health. Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc. is a nonprofit membership organization that supports, empowers, motivates, and encourages women to reach their fullest potential to live their best lives.
Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship*
Offers a training program in entrepreneurship and small business management to help female veterans and female military spouses/partners find their passion and learn the business savvy skills necessary to turn an idea or start-up into a growing venture. The Institute operates Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (V-WISE) for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF).
Offers scholarships for the Unconference, small business funding, and other professional development opportunities to women veterans. Women Veterans Giving is committed to narrowing the gap between civilian and military relations, empowering women of all leadership positions, assisting in the reintegration to civilian life, finding fulfillment in the professional world, encouraging a sense of belonging, encouraging entrepreneurs and small business owners, and building a supportive, educated community.
