VA Health Care Resources (Includes Mental Health and Substance Abuse Support)
- Women Veterans Call Center (call, text or chat) * (855) 829-6636
- The Women Veterans Call Center will help you navigate VA, point you in the right direction, and connect you with the Women Veterans Program Manager at your local VA medical center. This service is free and confidential, and you can call as many times as you need. If you are a woman Veteran you may call for yourself, or a friend, relative, or caregiver may call for you.
- Women Veterans Call Center representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET, and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET, excluding federal holidays. If you contact the Women Veterans Call Center after hours and leave a message, you will receive a return call the next day the call center is open.

- Your provider understands and acknowledges the role trauma may play in your life and is committed to enhancing your care by working to establish your feelings of safety, trust, choice, collaboration and empowerment during health care visits. We pay close attention to your preferences and to the physical environment and work to deliver care with absolute support and compassion.
- Civilian Health and Medical Program of VA (CHAMPVA)
- Are you the spouse or surviving spouse or child of a Veteran with disabilities or a Veteran who has died? If you don’t qualify for TRICARE (the Department of Defense’s health care program for active-duty and retired service members and their families), you may be able to get health insurance through CHAMPVA. Through this program, CHAMPVA covers the cost of some of your health care services and supplies (cost sharing).

Operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of confidential social and counseling services to Veterans, service members, and their families. Counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, are experienced and prepared to discuss the tragedies of war, loss, grief and transition after trauma.

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings.
Sully’s food and baby pantries provide basic needs, retreats provide healing opportunities, and the assistance program helps to “connect the dots” for those struggling to navigate current government systems. We partner with a wide range of military and government programs, with one goal, to support the Veterans where the other programs falter. Veterans deserve our nation’s gratitude, and, more importantly, a place to rebuild with honor.
Strongwater Farm Therapeutic Equestrian Center *
For more than two decades, Strongwater Farm has improved the quality of life and health for thousands of children and adults with special needs in the Greater Boston area through professional Equine-Assisted Services (EAS).
A 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, we are one of only two EAS centers in northeast Massachusetts with Premier Center accreditation from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International (PATH Intl.).

MCDHH provides accessible communication, education, and advocacy to consumers and private and public entities so that programs, services, and opportunities throughout Massachusetts are fully accessible to persons who are deaf and hard of hearing.

MassEDP offers specialized telephones, both wireline and wireless to residents who have permanent disabilities. You may be able to get these telephones for free or at reduced cost. Please note, for wireless devices MassEDP DOES NOT provide service plans.

The Bridge Club of Greater Lowell
Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our dedicated staff of recovery coaches stands ready to guide individuals through their journey or support them in returning from a relapse. Beyond offering a safe haven for meetings, we extend our hand to provide additional services such as assistance with detox, rehab, and placement in sober living environments.
Healing Heroes supports veterans and first responders. Our dedicated team understands the unique challenges faced by those who have served. We specialize in mental health and substance abuse recovery. Our staff includes experienced therapists, counselors, and medical professionals.
The Renfrew Center of Massachusetts
Eating disorders can impact anyone regardless of race, gender, body size, age, sexual orientation, religion, or ability. The Renfrew Center specializes in empowering cisgender adolescent girls and adult women, transgender, and non-binary individuals.
Serving Central Massachusetts, we provide support services to any person impacted by sexual violence, as well as education that helps end sexual violence, and we start by believing. A 24/7 support hotline is available at (800) 870-5905.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office on Women's Health (OWH) is working to increase awareness of veteran women and provide resources to improve their health and wellness.

The office serves as a central point for women’s health and raises visibility of risk factors and other conditions that impact women and girls’ health. Association of Late Deafened Adults
The mission of the Association of Late-Deafened Adults (ALDA) is to support the empowerment of deafened people. Late-Deafened Adults are people who have lost the ability to understand speech with or without hearing aids after acquiring spoken language. ALDA is committed to providing a support network and a sense of belonging by sharing our unique experiences, challenges and coping strategies, helping one another find practical solutions and emotional support, and working together with other organizations and service providers for our common good.
Hearing Health Foundation (HHF)
HHF is the largest nonprofit funder of hearing and balance research based in the United States. For 65 years and counting, HHF has awarded scientific research grants to foster the development of cochlear implant technology, more effective hearing aids and successful ear surgeries, and ultimately a cure for hearing loss which affects nearly 50 million Americans.

Black Women's Blueprint (A part of Restore Forward)
Provides in-person retreats to facilitate spaces for healing, reconciliation, and human connection in the natural world. Black Women's Blueprint, lives inside Restore Forward, works to fill a need for spaces and services designed by and for Black women and survivors to heal from trauma and violence.
Lifeline for Vets (Suicide & Other Resources)
Our Women Veteran Resources program connects women Veterans with appropriate resources to help them transition to civilian life after leaving the military, and to provide them with resources and tools to transition to civilian life and to continue to be leaders in their communities.
National Park Service Lifetime Access Pass (for disabled veterans)
Many Veterans, with a service connected disability rating, are entering Federal recreation lands and national parks for free with an America the Beautiful-the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands lifetime Access Pass through an interagency partnership between the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation. Good for entry into thousands of federally managed recreation sites across the country, the Lifetime Access Pass is another way a grateful nation says thank you for the service and sacrifices of U. S. Veterans with disabilities.
Offers inclusive athletic programs from mountain climbing, cycling, white water rafting, and many other sports to both adaptive and able-bodied participants. World T.E.A.M. uses athletics to challenge adaptive men, women, and children to accomplish goals they never thought possible.
Retreats help service members, veterans, first responders and their loved ones recover and maintain their physical, psychological and emotional well-being. These free 3-4 day retreats combine peer-to-peer counseling, life skills workshops and outdoor experiential learning. Camp Resilience strives to provide attendees with the tools to develop self-improvement goals and sustained ties to their community. The retreats stress the importance of camaraderie and wellness in fostering resilience.

A non-profit organization poised to step in and provide confidential, no-cost mental health care services to active-duty military, reservists, guard, veterans, and, in certain cases, spouses and caregivers. Programs include one-on-one counseling, peer support groups, and emotional wellness training. Additionally, mental health care professionals receive specialized training to address the unique challenges and strategies to support these clients.
