Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood-PLUS Program

The Defense Department recognizes that quality, affordable child care is critical for military families with children. That’s why the department’s fee assistance program Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood, also known as MCCYN, has recently expanded its child care program eligibility requirements for civilian providers in the local community.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – Positive Parenting Tips 

As a parent you give your children a good start in life—you nurture, protect and guide them. Parenting is a process that prepares your child for independence. As your child grows and develops, there are many things you can do to help your child. These links will help you learn more about your child’s development, positive parenting, safety, and health at each stage of your child’s life.

DEEC Child Care Financial Assistance

Massachusetts child care financial assistance programs (CCFA) can help you pay for child care and out-of-school time programs.

Division for Children & Youth with Special Health Needs 

The toll free statewide Community Support Line [Community Support Line (800) 882-1435] provides information, technical assistance and resources for families with children and youth with special health needs and the providers serving these families. Resource Specialists inform families about all of the public programs they may be eligible for, and about the state and community-based resources that may provide assistance. They answer questions, do a thorough assessment of family needs and eligibility for services and benefits and provide training to families and providers.

Early Childhood Education and Care

Massachusetts Department of Children & Families

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) offers services to adoptive parents and their children to ensure that you have the support your family needs.

Resources for Parents with Disabilities 

The Department of Children and Families is committed to working with parents and caregivers with disabilities in order to identify the supports and services they need to be successful. As part of its mission to protect children from abuse and neglect in partnership with families and communities, DCF has appointed a Statewide Disability Coordinator and Regional Disability Liaisons to support the Department’s work with parents and caregivers with disabilities.

Office of the Child Advocate – Resources for Children and Families 

The OCA Resource Guide is an introduction to the different agencies that serve children across the Commonwealth and resources that can be used by children, families, and professionals for support and services related to child-serving agencies. The guide includes descriptions of each agency, who each agency serves, lists of programs and services that they offer, and how to apply for services, where applicable.

Compilation of resources and supports for parents raising children with disabilities. Resources include advocacy, autism insurance, benefits, child care, education, health and mental health, parenting tips, special education, transition and post-secondary resources.

Family Ties of Massachusetts 

Provides information and referral services, emotional support, and training to parents of children and youth with special needs. Driven and staffed by parents of children with special needs, we offer a unique type of emotional and practical support to families with similar life experiences. We are a primary source for information about Early Intervention and maintain a complete listing of Early Intervention Programs in MA.

Massachusetts Advocates for Children 

Massachusetts Advocates for Children’s mission is to remove barriers to educational and life opportunities for children and youth.

Massachusetts Family Literacy Consortium (MFLC) 

A compilations of online resources for parents developed by the MFLC, including Get Ready to Read, One Tough Job, Reading Rockets, and information how parents can facilitate literacy for children.

Massachusetts Sibling Support Network 

Supports siblings of people with disabilities across the Commonwealth. We strive to create welcoming communities for siblings that are inclusive, empowering, and provide needed answers. We are a leader in promoting the sibling voice at tables across Massachusetts as we provide direct sibling support services, including educational presentations and information and referral support.
