FutureSkills is brought to you by the MassHire Department of Career Services, Executive Offices of Labor and Workforce Development, Housing and Economic Development, and Education. Grants are administered by Commonwealth Corporation. 

Advanced Manufacturing Training Program 

Provides funding to qualifying consortiums to develop, coordinate, and maintain comprehensive manufacturing workforce development systems.

Apprenticeships  

Explore organizations with existing DOL-funded grants and contracts.

Behavioral Health Partnership Expansion Grant 

Grantees recruit and train unemployed and underemployed candidates for entry-level roles and support training and other supports intended to provide career advancement opportunities for entry and mid-level behavioral healthcare staff.

Career Technical Initiative (CTI) 

Seeks to address the persistent need for skilled labor in construction, trades, and manufacturing.

MassSTEP 

Teaches students English, earn a high school credential, and earn industry-recognized credentials in areas such as advanced manufacturing, healthcare, information technology, and more.

Massachusetts Partnership for Transition to Employment (MPTE) 

Designed to improve employment outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities transitioning from school to adult life.

Massachusetts Skills Capital Grant Program 

Awards grants for the purchase and installation of equipment and related improvements and renovations necessary for the installation and use of such equipment to support vocational and technical training.

On-the-Job Training (OJT) 

Enables employers to hire new employees and train them at their place of business while being reimbursed a percentage of the new employee's wages during training.

Re-Entry Workforce Development Demonstration Grant 

Improves workforce outcomes among individuals returning to their communities after incarceration.

Replenishing Employer Investment in Education and Workforce Training (RENEW) 

Reduces challenge of finding skilled talent in a tight labor market and ensures the development of a diverse and equitable workforce.

Signal Success 

A career readiness curriculum designed and tested by education and workforce development partners to help young people develop essential skills for future success in the workplace.

STEM Equipment and Professional Development Grant Program 

Awards grant funding to schools and curriculum providers for the purpose of teacher professional development and the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, and technology needed to support new or expanded curriculum.

Training Resources and Internship Networks (TRAIN) Program 

Supports long-term unemployed, under-employed and new entrant adult workers who seek to enter/reenter the workforce.

Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund (WCTF) 

The WCTF invests in demand-driven programs designed by industry sector partnerships that train and place unemployed and underemployed workers.

Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP) 

Addresses business productivity and competitiveness by providing resources to Massachusetts businesses to fund training for current and newly hired employees.

Young Adults with Disabilities (YAWD) 

Counters barriers faced by individuals with disabilities by providing employment opportunities

YouthWorks 

A state-funded youth employment program that helps teens and young adults develop skills and experience needed to find and keep jobs.
