Services   at Advocates CBHC - Waltham

On-site and Mobile Crisis Intervention

Our team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide support during mental health and substance use crises. During difficult times, we offer sensitive, respectful, and personalized support tailored to the needs of children, teens, and adults. Services are provided at our offices or in your home, school, or other community location, so you don’t have to make an unnecessary emergency room visit.

Community crisis stabilization (CCS)

Community crisis stabilization is short-term, safe, and structured crisis treatment offered in a community-based program for people with mental health and/or substance use disorders. CCS serves as a less restrictive, voluntary, overnight alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Adult services are offered at our Framingham location, and youth services are offered by Wayside Youth & Family Support Network at their nearby Framingham campus. Transportation from Waltham and between sites is provided, as necessary.

Individual, family, and couples counseling

We offer traditional talk therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and other evidence-based approaches tailored to support people of all ages, while prioritizing individual needs and preferences.

Group Therapy

Group treatment can create a sense of belonging and provide a safe place to practice new skills. We offer a variety of groups for people of all ages with a range of needs including life skills, anger management, addiction, and more.

Certified Peer Specialist support for emotional and mental health challenges

We believe that people change and grow in connection with others. We also place tremendous value on the life experience of people who have had their own mental and emotional health challenges. We employ a robust team of peer specialists who use their expertise and their own personal stories to instill hope in others and demonstrate that recovery is possible for everyone.

Psychiatric assessment and medication management

As part of a comprehensive treatment plan, we offer psychiatric assessments and psychiatric medication management.

Substance use treatment, including medication supported recovery

Advocates offers many programs and treatment options, including medications such as buprenorphine and naltrexone, for people struggling with addiction so they can embark on a path to recovery.

Certified Recovery Coach support for substance use challenges

Recovery coaches are professionally trained to use their own lived experience with addiction to support others. Recovery coaching provides non-clinical support, helping people in recovery to live fulfilling lives. Recovery coaches assist with navigating systems of care and exploring community resources.

Care coordination

Coordinating all facets of care can be overwhelming. Our team supports people with health-related needs such as securing housing or food, scheduling health appointments and setting up related transportation, and more.
