Services
The Southeastern Massachusetts Office opened in New Bedford in February 2000 with the goal of bringing the resources of the Attorney General’s Office into the Commonwealth's communities.
Staff participate in various outreach projects with local organizations and provide informational workshops on issues affecting residents. This office is a valuable resource for residents who have questions, or require information or consumer assistance for many issues.
We may be able to assist you with:
- Consumer-related matters such as auto sales/repair problems, retail sale disputes, and issues with home improvement projects;
- Workers’ rights and wage issues;
- Auto, life, and homeowners insurance issues;
- Referrals to local community organizations or other government agencies most appropriate for specific needs
Assistant Attorneys General also participate in the Abandoned Housing Initiative which works to rebuild vacant properties and create safe neighborhoods for the communities we serve.
