Services   at Riverside Community Care (CBHC) - Norwood

Outpatient Care

The CBHCs provide:

  • Extended hours – weekdays 8am-8pm, weekends 9am-5pm
  • Appointments with treatment team members according to need
  • Walk-in appointments for urgent behavioral healthcare
  • Nurses to take vital signs and coordinate lab referrals
  • Group sessions and peer support
  • On-site laboratory services
  • Mobile Crisis Intervention

In an urgent behavioral health crisis, Riverside responders are available 24/7. All are trained in evidence-based Signs of Suicide, trauma-informed care, and mental health first aid. Instead of going to the emergency room, services can be provided over the phone, at home, at school, or in another community setting.  Responders will help evaluate the situation and then make a plan involving service components of the CBHC if needed.

Community Crisis Stabilization

Our home-like overnight facilities within the community offer a safe place for an individual to stabilize following a crisis intervention (whenever possible and clinically appropriate) in place of an inpatient hospital admission. The program is staffed 24/7 and the typical length of treatment is 5-7 days.

Adult CCS programs are housed at Riverside locations in South County and Norwood, close to our Outpatient Center CBHCs. Riverside is partnering with The Home for Little Wanderers to launch a new Youth Community Crisis Stabilization (YCCS) program in Walpole for ages 13–18. We anticipate these services will be available in the Spring of 2023.

Additional CBHC services:

  • Telehealth and flexible service delivery, including community locations
  • Trauma-informed, evidence-based practices and peer support for all ages and types of challenges
  • Language services (including ASL) via real-time video translation
  • Culturally competent staff to meet the needs of diverse communities
  • Outreach to individuals and families to engage and coordinate care
  • Capability for clinically appropriate drop-offs from local law enforcement
  • Coordination with other Riverside services and those provided by other organizations
