Massachusetts State Lottery

We ensure the integrity of government operated games of chance and ensure the wellbeing of its players.

The Massachusetts State Lottery was created in 1972 to generate local aid revenue for our 351 cities and towns through state-run games of chance. Since its inception, the Lottery has returned more than $25 billion in net profit to the Commonwealth. In 2017, we returned over $1 billion in net profit to our 351 cities and town and over $3.6 billion in prizes.
