From deliveries of vital equipment to Probation employees and courts across the state to dropping off masks at Boston Children’s Hospital for cleaning each week, employees of the Massachusetts Trial Court Community Service Program are playing an important role in the operations and safety of the Massachusetts Probation Service and the the Trial Court during COVID-19.

Community Service employees recently delivered 40,000 surgical disposable gloves and masks to Trial Court employees including Chief Probation Officers, Judges, Clerks, Facilities Supervisors, and all TC department heads. The Community Service team also delivered three shipments of sanitizer to the courts. The TC has also ordered another large supply of hand sanitizer which Community Service will help deliver to employees.

The Community Service employees have also assisted with the delivery of Probation’s first shipments of PPE in April. Community Service employees have also picked up and delivered the 800 phones that were distributed to Probation staff during COVID-19. Each week, they also pick up and deliver masks to Boston Children’s Hospital for cleaning, according to David Skocik, Statewide Supervisor of Community Service.

“These are unprecedented times. It is also a time when we are all working together to keep things running smoothly for Probation and the courts during COVID-19,” Skocik said.
